BARRY A. SNELL

Barry A. Snell is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California with a Masters of Science in Taxation. Mr. Snell’s accounting firm was established in 1987 offering a full range of accounting and financial consulting services. Prior to opening his own Company, Mr. Snell worked as an accountant for the public accounting firms of Coopers and Lybrand, Oppenheim Appel & Dickson CPAs, Gursey Schneider & Company and Zivetz Schwartz & Saltsman CPAs.

Mr. Snell’s business experience with clients ranges from large fortune 500 Company’s such as IBM, Prudential Insurance, and Nabisco to medium and small businesses such as Monex International, a gold and silver commodities trader and Word of Life Book Store.

Mr. Snell has represented numerous clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the State Franchise Tax Board. His expertise in the area of real estate and trust and estates has been instrumental in saving clients tax dollars and the avoidance of tax liens and property seizures. During the California real estate crisis Mr. Snell has provided services in assisting clients to restructure their mortgages to avoid foreclosures. Mr. Snell’s firm prepares annually more that 300 Individual, Corporation and Estate tax returns.

Mr. Snell has been certified by the Superior Courts of California, Los Angeles as a forensic accountant and has testified over twenty times on various accounting and tax issues in the area of family law. Mr. Snell has mediated more than 50 divorces over the past 10 years and has settled family law estates in excess of $19 million. Mr. Snell has help clients with settling spousal and child support enforcement. Mr. Snell has valued many businesses ranging from medical and service type companies as well as manufacturing and retail businesses.

Mr. Snell in November 2014 was elected to serve on the Santa Monica College Board of Trustees and was President of the Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District and served as a Board member for the school district from 2006-2010.
